But once the season is over, it becomes a true treasure hunt to find not only who has availability but it’s like wrangling kittens in barn for a bath to find an affordable price. Sadly, you really never know what you are getting off season until they arrive. Florist, more often then not, pre-pay for blooms before a grower will ship. Then the disappointment level upon arrival for both florists and customers alike, when first experiencing the size and quality difference compared to seasonal blooms, is painful to watch. |

FLORISTS' LITTLE SECRETIf you are set on using peonies in your bridal bouquet when they are clearly out of season, then ask your florist if faux blooms can be substituted. Mixing an artificial peony in with real flowers for wedding work is a old florist trick used by skilled florists for years upon years. An experienced florist has the knowledge when using artificial in their mixed composition that allows any faux flower to go undetected and still have your guests bending down to take in their aroma. Trust your florist though, they won't use cheap looking blooms, so you may pay just as much as a fresh peony in season as you will for a artificial bloom out of season. Quality is key. |
